Lt. Col. Lindell R. Grigg is the Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, FL-821 Air
Force Junior ROTC at Buchholz High School in Gainesville, FL. He is Commandant of
Cadets for 120+ cadets at Buchholz High School. He is responsible for conducting
and overseeing the curriculum, training and co-curricular activities for the Junior
ROTC program at Buchholz.
Lt. Col. Grigg graduated from Southern Illinois University in 1970 with a degree
in Music Education. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air
Force and served three years of his enlistment as a teletype repairman. In 1973,
he was commissioned through the Officer Training School at Medina AFB, TX. He completed
Undergraduate Pilot Training at Vance Air Force Base (AFB), OK. He has seen duty
in a variety of flying assignments, including the T/AT-38, F-4, and F-16.
He served three years on the Tactical Air Command Staff at Langley AFB, VA, working
aircraft bed down and base closure programs. His last active duty assignment was
25th Air Liaison Squadron Commander at Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii. Lt. Col. Grigg
retired from active duty 1 July 1993. He began his Junior ROTC career by opening
a unit in London, KY in 1993 where he taught for 5 years. He relocated to Buchholz
in the summer of 1998 and has been on the faculty since that time. Lt. Col. Grigg
is beginning his 19th year as an Air Force Junior ROTC Senior Aerospace Science Instructor.
